The role of Micaela in Carmen in the 2022 season was her first appearance on the stage of the Santa Fe Opera. She went on that year to light up the Metropolitan Opera stage in Kevin Puts’, ‘The Hours’. Critical acclaim from Olyrix & Bachtrack declares hers a ‘silky voice’ with ‘purity of timbre’. She is assuredly on her way to becoming a major international star.

While Sylvia stood perfectly still, we stapled overlapping pieces of construction paper to a support along her back mimicking the Guggenheim Museum. Opera singers, unlike fashion models, use their often-strange costumes to help them define their character. Sylvia was a great sport and wore the paper dress brilliantly.
